This Professional Training Program is designed to assist executives, management, and operational staff in the financial sector with their digital transformation journey. It consists of courses that focus on the different managerial undertakings that are necessary to successfully conduct digital transformation initiatives, value creation from enterprise data assets, as well as novel technology related courses in the fields of blockchain and financial technologies. Some of the courses are tailored for executives and managers to help them strategically plan for their initiatives, define and optimize their existing business processes, and measure and track organizational and project conducts and their associated risks. Other courses are dedicated to managing, integrating, and mining (AI/ML) of enterprise data as well as information visualization for augmented decision-making support. The program also incorporates courses on Blockchain technology, its applications in the financial sector, and resulting regulatory implications of such transformations. Business Intelligence and Reporting (GT-DS-201)
This course provides an overview of BI and its application to an organization’s strategies and goals. The course covers the concepts surrounding BI, methodologies for its implementation, and various technologies used to analyze and present business knowledge.
Data Management and Warehousing (GT-DS-202)
This course covers concepts and methods in design, implementation, and maintenance of the data and knowledge management systems. The course develops an understanding of database and data warehousing development, database administration and knowledge management. It also shows how organizational intelligence and competitive advantage can stem from the analysis of aggregated data that is sourced from various systems and integrated into a whole data warehouse.
Artificial Intelligence and Data Mining (GT-DS-301)
This course presents artificial intelligence and data mining concepts, tools, and techniques. It focuses on the operational and strategic importance of using artificial intelligence techniques to mine data of today’s organizations for improved data-driven decision making. Topics to be covered include AI and machine learning methods, data quality assessment, data transformation, data modeling, pattern finding, predictive analytics, and more. In addition, real-world data mining applications will be practiced on real-life data sets to illustrate the course concepts.
Business Process Management (GT-MG-101)
This course aims to provide students with an in-depth understanding of Business Process Management (BPM) and its importance in today's business environment. It covers the concepts of business process identification, modeling, analysis, and optimization to improve organizations’ business operations. Throughout the course, students will be exposed to industry standard techniques, models, and tools used in BPM to enhance organizational performance, efficiency, and agility.
Strategic Planning (GT-MG-102)
This course provides participants with a comprehensive understanding of the strategic planning processes. It covers topics such as internal and external environmental analysis, resource alignment, budgeting, evaluation, and lessons learned. The course provides practical tools and techniques that trainees can utilize in their own organizations.
Performance Evaluation (GT-MG-103)
This course is designed to help management define and implement performance evaluation processes. The course will cover various topics such as understanding the different performance evaluation processes, analyzing key environmental factors that could affect performance, defining and measuring performance metrics and key performance indicators, managing risk, evaluation, and lessons learned. The course will provide practical tools and techniques that participants can apply in their own organizations.
Event and meeting Management (GT-MG-108)
This course shall introduce participants to a step-by-step road map to events management in general as well as a special focus on managing meetings effectively. The course shall involve material related to event planning and the different components included as well as useful templates that can be used to enhance the event management process.
Enterprise Risk Management (GT-MG-111)
This course covers best practices in managing enterprise risk such as market, credit, operational, or reputation risk. It is designed to assist risk managers in analyzing the activities and processes of enterprises that create value and developing the relevant risk strategies that help maximize gain and minimize loss. Special attention is given to the roles and responsibilities of key profiles within the enterprise and the methods that can be adopted to establish a governance, risk, and compliance culture. The course is aligned with ISO 31000:2018 standard on risk management.
Digital Transformation Management (GT-MG-201)
This course explains predictive and agile management methods and techniques that can be utilized to manage digital transformation programs. Project management standards that are defined by the Project Management Institute, Scrum Alliance, and SAFe (scaled agile framework) are provided as the foundations to manage such programs and are tailored to address the specifics of the digital transformation initiatives. The course covers the best practices in the field and assists organizations in evaluating the level of their maturity to manage digital transformations.
Digital Transformation with Blockchain for Executives (GT-MG-301)
Blockchain technology has the potential to transform the way businesses engage with their intra- and inter-organization activities. While blockchain has traditionally been associated with cryptocurrencies, major companies like IBM, JP Morgan, Deloitte, and Microsoft have been actively working to extend its application to various business sectors and to streamline operations within and across enterprises. Risk and Information Systems Control (GT-IT-211)
This course presents concepts and guidelines in risk management, auditing, control, and information security. It is designed to assist managers in addressing IT risk as well as in the design, implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of IS risk controls. The course also provides tools and techniques to address the pillars of information security (the CIA principles: confidentiality, integrity, and availability).
Programming with Python: Beginner (GT-IT-301)
This course is intended as an introduction to programming using the Python language. The course covers the basic variables, datatypes, input-processing-output, functions, and operations that are typical in Python application programs.
Programming with Python: Intermediate (GT-IT-302)
This course extends the knowledge of novice programmers and their programming skills with the Python language. The course covers more advanced topics such as object-oriented programming, packages, class objects, data processing and visualization, and code management.
Blockchain Applications Development (GT-IT-303)
This course provides an in-depth exploration of blockchain technology and its decentralized nature. Over the span of five days, participants will gain a solid understanding of key concepts, tools, and practical skills necessary to develop decentralized applications (Dapps) and interact with smart contracts.
Fintech: Foundations and Applications (GT-FS-101)
This course focuses on the role of technology in reshaping financial services. It highlights use cases in retail and corporate financing and describes how technology is being utilized to improve user experiences and available instruments in payments, equity, trading, wealth management, and so on. Moreover, the course features current fintech applications in digital banking, customer service, lending, crowdfunding, neobanking (virtual), security, analytics, and financial planning.
Blockchain for Finance (GT-FS-102)
This course describes the foundations of blockchain technology, their benefits to the financial sector, and current blockchain-based innovations that the global banking sector is engaged in.
Fintech and Tokenization: Regulatory implications (GT-FS-201)
This course describes the most recent fintech and banking regulations and initiatives that materialized globally as well in Qatar. Globally, it presents current directives from the EU (e.g., SEPA, MiCA, Directive EU 2015/2366, etc.), USA (Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, Suspicious Activity Reports, Bank secrecy act, etc.), as well as regional regulations from UAE’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority and Monetary Authority of Singapore. Locally, it focuses on Qatar Central Bank and Qatar Financial Center Fintech and digital asset regulations initiative along with related ministerial regulations on privacy on security.
